In 1930 in San Vito Chietino GIOCONDO de SANTIS began the activity of miller driven by the strong vocation of olive growing on the coast of Abruzzo. The current reality sees Frantoio Giocondo combine the care of olive groves, the management of the transformation of olives into oil and a lot of experience.
They enhance with ARTISANITY the different characters of the olives that grow on our coast reaching the fifth generation directly descendants of the founder Giocondo who takes the name the olive mill (frantoio).

The territory of San Vito Chietino on which our oil mill stands has, among others, the peculiarity of being on a stretch of coast characterized by hills that literally almost reach the sea.
This is a sweet and fascinating landscape that reflects its beauty in the characteristics of the olive groves that rise right on these hills. A link between land and sea that affects the flavor of the oil and the aromas of citrus fruits and other crops that draw their full potential from this area.
It is precisely the sea and the aromas from other crops that are found in this area, especially citrus fruits, which affect the flavor of the oil and constitute the distinctive element of our production.

Today olive growing is an activity that, unlike others, is not involved in production dynamics “forced” by the need to earn an income, but is carried out essentially out of passion. This is also the case for our oil mill. Not a subtle but substantial difference in an approach that preserves plants and crops from stressful treatments and activities for an everyday product.
